I’ve even gone so far as to delete Facebook from my phone altogether, and on the occasions when I need it for work (it does help in this job to be vaguely connected to the wider community), I can log in on my laptop. The laptop, after all, doesn’t live in my bag or pocket. Like an opportunistic thief, a low, annoying wall can be as much of a deterrent as a high one. Same goes for the apps; I’m not about to put down everything and find a computer to log in to just to check on the latest viral discourse.
