iPhone 20 Renders Reveal Apple’s Next-Generation Design, With Details Like Silicon-Anode Battery, A21 SoC, HBM RAM & More Mentioned


The quad-curved display belonging to the iPhone 20 has finally been showcased in the latest renders, as Apple is rumored to announce its 20th-anniversary edition at next year’s keynote. In addition to the radical design change, we also learned about various upgrades that are expected to be found underneath the hood, such as a new battery technology, improved camera, and the A21 silicon.

Surprisingly, the iPhone 20 will have a rear dual-camera at the back, hinting that the new design may also arrive to the base model

The video uploaded by Front Page Tech, with its host Jon Prosser, shows all four sides of the iPhone 20 curving around the edges, with Samsung previously reported to be the exclusive supplier of this OLED. As we approach closer and closer to the iPhone 18, the frequency of reports and rumors surrounding Apple’s next-generation device will pick up, and looking at these renders, we’re thoroughly excited to see what materializes next year.

As for the specifications, Apple is said to ditch lithium-ion battery technology in favor of silicon-anode, allowing the iPhone 20 to house a higher capacity cell within the same footprint, resulting in exceptionally high runtimes. Additionally, the A21 chipset will debut next year, with the possibility that Apple switches to Intel’s foundry to mass the produce the SoC. Lastly, we have the camera, with Prosser stating that we should brace ourselves for a new HDR sensor that will push the boundaries of smartphone photography.

Interestingly, the latest iPhone 20 renders also show that there’s only a dual-camera configuration at the back, when typically, Apple has incorporated three sensors on its top-end flagships. Does this mean the quad-curved display design will be available on all models next year? Unfortunately, we cannot confirm right now, but we are living in exciting times. To push Apple Intelligence to the next echelon, Apple cannot solely rely on its chipsets’ NPU and NVMe storage to perform the heavy lifting.

That’s why, according to Prosser, the iPhone 20 will switch to mobile High-Bandwidth Memory (HBM) next year. Apple has been exploring this DRAM upgrade to elevate its on-device AI experience, and wouldn’t you know it, Samsung has found a way to implement this memory beyond servers using intricate and complex packaging. Perhaps Samsung will partner with Apple to supply it with the iPhone 20’s HBM next year, in addition to the OLED.
