Kicker Zane Gonzalez, Dolphins agree to one-year deal

The Miami Dolphins have found their kicker.

Zane Gonzalez signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins, his agent Mike McCartney announced via Twitter. The exact terms of said contract are currently unclear.

Gonzalez most recently played for the Atlanta Falcons where he hit 86.4% of his field goals and 94.4% of his extra points across nine games.

A journeyman through and through, Gonzalez has suited up for five teams including the Cleveland Browns (2017-18), Arizona Cardinals (2018-2020), Carolina Panthers (2021), Washington Commanders (2024) and the Falcons (2025). He has hit 81% of his field goals – most notably, 59/82 from 40-yards or more – and has only missed eight point after tries.

The Browns initially picked Gonzalez in the seventh round in 2017.

With Friday’s release of Jason Sanders and Riley Patterson still on the market, Gonzalez has a pretty good chance to start from Day 1.
