Social Security payments in April will follow a normal schedule, with the first payments hitting on April 8.
Social Security benefits – paid mostly to recipients who are older or retired – are typically scheduled to go out on Wednesdays. On the second Wednesday of the month, payments are issued for beneficiaries whose birthdays fall between the first and 10th days of the month (for April, that is April 8), according to the Social Security Administration’s calendar.
Recipients born between the 11th and 20th get paid on the third Wednesday (April 15) of the month; those born after the 20th of the month are paid on the fourth Wednesday of the month (April 22), according to the SSA calendar. Social Security recipients who began getting benefits before May 1997 are scheduled to be paid on Friday, April 3.

April 2026 Social Security retirement benefits will be sent out on the SSA’s usual schedule:
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a program benefitting those with limited or no income or resources, those aged 65 or older, and those who are blind or have a qualifying disability. Children with a qualifying disability are also eligible for SSI, according to the SSA website.
