EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -Enjoy Monday while you can. It’s shaping up to be the warmest day of the week with highs near 81 degrees and partly sunny skies by afternoon. After some scattered showers and isolated storms early in the day, conditions improve with a breezy wind from the southwest.
But the pleasant weather won’t last long. A significant round of showers and thunderstorms will move in Tuesday, bringing about an inch of rain to the area. While the severe weather threat remains low, the steady rain could impact your commute and outdoor plans.

A Lake Wind Advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday. Southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts between 25 and 35 mph will create strong winds and rough waves on area lakes, making conditions hazardous for small craft. If you’re planning to be on the water, exercise caution and consider postponing boating activities until conditions improve.
