HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The following schools have announced closures due to the storm impacting Hawaii through the weekend.
All O‘ahu, Kaua‘i, Maui County, and Hawaii Island public schools, and Hawaii State Department of Education offices will be closed Friday, March 13, in anticipation of severe weather conditions.
There will be no in-person instruction or extracurricular activities on March 13 on O‘ahu, Kauaʻi, Maui, Molokai, Lānaʻi, and Hawaii Island. Students and staff should not report to campuses or HIDOE offices unless specifically directed.
Students and teachers statewide are scheduled to be on spring break March 16-20.
University of Hawaii
All University of Hawaiʻi campuses across the state will be closed on Friday, March 13, due to severe weather expected to impact the state, including heavy rain, flash flooding, severe thunderstorms and high winds.
The closure includes all scheduled classes and events, including the OUTRIGGER Invitational men’s volleyball tournament and a Rainbow Wahine softball game at UH Mānoa.
Chaminade University
Chaminade’s campus will be closed on Friday due to severe weather conditions. Campus offices are scheduled to reopen Monday, March 16, unless otherwise notified, school officials said.
