This season has been a major disappointment for Providence College basketball fans, and the hits keep on coming.

After a first-round victory by PC over Butler on Wednesday, the Friars play St. John’s.

The game has all the drama a Big East tournament game can have.

First, the Friars handed the Red Storm one of their two conference losses at Madison Square Garden on January 3.

Second, PC was beating St. John’s in Providence in the second half when Duncan Powell slammed former Friar Bryce Hopkins to the floor in an incident that sparked a brawl, suspensions, and St. John’s came back to win.  That game may have been the final nail in the coffin of PC Coach Kim English’s tenure.

Third, the Red Storm is coached by Rick Pitino.

Now, the stakes could not be higher, but few Friar fans will be able to watch the game.

Just like the opening round, the game will only be available on the streaming service Peacock, which has just 44 million subscribers in America — in a country with a population of 340 million.

For most Friar fans, no game for you.
