Amid leaks and rumors of “Pixel Glow” on the Pixel 11, many are pointing to a specific shot at Google I/O as the first “official” look at the feature. That’s almost surely not at all true, but it did bring to mind a fun leak wink at a previous Google event.
During the Gemini Omni section of the Google I/O 2026 Keynote, a specific shot is raising eyebrows as it lines up with rumors of “Pixel Glow” on the upcoming Pixel 11 series – something 9to5Google first reported on. The shot shows a Pixel phone with a lit-up strip around the camera bar, akin to what we thought “Pixel Glow” might look like in early rumors.
In the time since the keynote, the idea that this is an “official look” or “accidental tease” or any other combination of buzzwords that look good in a headline or on a “verified” Twitter/X account.
It’s probably not.
For one thing, the entire segment we’re looking at here is made with AI. The lit-up camera bar fits in nicely with the disco scene Omni threw together.
Of course, that said, it does seem pretty on the nose. Plus, being the last shot in the sequence, that gives it all the more attention. That doesn’t mean it’s some accidental leak or “official look,” but it could be a fun wink at leaks.

That’s something Google absolutely does do from time to time.
On top of simply giving in to leaks in recent years and showing off Pixels in full weeks or even months ahead of their actual announcement, Google has spent years making little jokes and winks at leaks and rumors around its products.
When I saw this moment, the first thing that personally came to mind was the whole “Pixel Ultra meeting” joke at the Pixel 2’s launch event back in 2018. Leading up to the Pixel 2’s release, there were rumors for months about a “Pixel Ultra,” something that kept on going a year later around the Pixel 3’s debut. Google, during its Pixel 2 presentation, put a very prominent “Pixel Ultra meeting” on the At a Glance widget as a very obvious wink around all of the online talk.

Is it possible that “Pixel Glow” on the Pixel 11 will look like this AI video at I/O? Maybe! I’d personally love that design. But it’s equally possible we’ll just be getting some LEDs within the camera bar that would be a whole lot less exciting.
For now, all we really know about “Pixel Glow” is that it’s a thing.
