The unlikely man who helped put Kouri Richins behind bars

By the fall of 2022, the law enforcement investigation examining the death of Eric Richins had stalled. But as investigators with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office in Utah struggled to analyze cellphone data, they got assistance from an unlikely source who helped “accelerate” their investigation, as a prosecutor in the case later put it.
