Apple is not expected to unveil new iPhones for another five months or so, having unveiled the iPhone 17e in March (curr. $719 on Amazon). Still, this year’s annual iPhone refresh is tipped by the likes of Mark Gurman as one of the company’s ‘biggest’ yet.
In part, that is because Apple is believed to be finally unveiling its foldable iPhone this September. Also, the event should represent the first hosted by new CEO John Ternus. In the meantime, leakers are lining up with their predictions about what else Apple has in store.
For instance, Digital Chat Station and Ice Universe both now claim that Apple eventually hopes to adopt a quad-curved display, too. Writing on Weibo, the former adds that this will create a ‘visually borderless design’, which they have attempted to create in the concept image above.
Meanwhile, the latter has come up with an alternative of their own. Reproduced above and below, Ice Universe’s image emphasises that the added curvature results in bezels disappearing from sight. Ultimately, a quad-curved display would be nothing new for fans of Android or Nokia’s Lumia smartphone division.
Nonetheless, Ice Universe adds that Apple may brand this display as a ‘Liquid Glass Display’. When this ‘next generation display’ will come to fruition remains to be seen at this point, though.
